Cubinko is a match-3 puzzler from developed independently by Rodolfo Seabra, also known as Neo Maze. The developer says it has a unique kind of genre. The game comes with mechanics and a special art style, which is not so common among other match-3 games. Currently, it will be available on IOS only, in the future may be available to different platforms.
Currently, Cubinko stands out from the match-3 crowd with its colourful hand-drawn art style scheme. Instead of having normal coloured gems that continuously drops down, Seabra has gone for a shape in the centre, where you'll place different pieces by yourself.
What do You need To Do?
This means that instead of finding matches by sliding pieces around, you'll be going to create them yourself. You can create them by dragging the pieces onto the board. These pieces can contain up to 4 blocks of different colors which can be adjusted by rotating before being fixed onto the board.
To make the blocks disappear you'll need to place 3 or more of the same color near to each other. Here the possibility will be that you can match three blocks of different colors since at once you can place multiple blocks and the more you destroy simultaneously the more you can score.
There will be 2 distinctive game variants to tackle in Cubinko. The first of them is Arcade mode. Here the player gets unlimited time but you need to complete missions to continue playing. The second one is ‘Time Attack’ where you lack the mission element, but you'll need to match pieces against the clock. Beyond that, other options include a day or night color theme, depending on your preference.
Cubinko will be available for iOS devices on October 10, 2020 on iOS App Store.
