Pokemon GO: Throwback to Kanto

The new event has a lot to offer its players from the Kanto region. Kanto starters like Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle will spawn often in the game. An event-exclusive Pikachu wearing Charizard hats will also be appearing as fans voted Charizard as the Number one Kanto Pokemon. Some of the other Kanto based Pokemon like Venonat and Chansey will also be appearing frequently in the wild.

There's a good chance to catch a Shiny Venonat in this week. The 7 km eggs will hatch some of the popular Kanto Pokemon like Venonat, Machop, Onix, Lickitung, Tangela, Scyther, Pinsir, Lapras, and Eevee.

Raiding Gyms and completing the daily Field Research tasks will also fetch you original Kanto based Pokemon. The event provides a great opportunity to level up faster with the extra bonuses. These will be the 2x Catch XP, 2x Raid XP and 2x Hatch XP.

The event has eight sets of tasks with the usual rewards and it leads to the ultimate 9th set of tasks. After completion, get a guaranteed encounter with the Psychic-type Legendary Mewtwo and also receive 10 Rare Candies. The Mewtwo also comes with its signature psychic-type move known as the "Psystrike", which is a devastating charge attack. The move was last seen only in September 2019.

With the variety of rewards offered by the tasks, players will really look forward to the nostalgia triggering event. Pokemon GO is available on Android and iOS with Throwback Challenge 2020: Kanto now live.
