This quarantine got you bored? Online classes a drag and need a small break? Well, here’s a list of 7 games that are fun, not addictive, and will definitely not bore you while you switch off your camera on your zoom meeting.
I like to call these games 10-second games as they load the initial stage within 10 seconds or less, do not require internet to play, and are extremely fun to play while at the same time pushing you to think strategically and help to increase hand-eye coordination and improves cognitive function.
1 Mr. Bullet
Mr. Bullet is a game that requires you as the Agent or Shooter to shoot the villains and zombies or save hostages using guns and grenades in this very interactive game. With graphics straight out of a better resolution version of Minecraft, this game dares you to use basic principles of Physics and Geometry to reach the goal so you can advance to the next round. The difficulty increases as the levels increase, but the higher the risk, the greater the reward.
2 Hunter Assassin
If you think you can do well under high-pressure situations, then this game is perfect for you. Hunter Assassin combines your hand-eye coordination skills to see how sneaky you can be by using your surroundings and the shadows while at the same time eliminating all the enemies around you. It is the perfect game not only for a meticulous calculative gamer but also for someone who just loves the thrill of the game.
As the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover, and it’s the same you should be doing for this game. Ballz is a step up or an upgrade rather of the nostalgic game Brick Breaker where a ball is launched from a platform in order to break bricks using concepts of geometry; whereas Ballz takes that concept one step further and allows you to keep on increasing the number of balls in your arsenal, so the breaking of blocks is much more efficient but only if you are smart enough to shoot them in the right direction.
4 Kinfe Hit
This is another game that tests your hand-eye coordination, by giving you a fixed number of knives to throw at a log of wood in order to break it successfully without the knife hitting the other knives stuck on the log of wood. It is definitely not as easy as it sounds as the log of wood keeps rotating, and as the levels increase, the speed increases as well. If you’re lucky, you get apples as brownie points to unlock different knives and colors to make your gaming experience a lot more fun.
This game is quite old, but it has still not lost its relevance in these times. 2048 is a mental math calculation game that combines quick maths skills with basic puzzle-solving abilities to achieve the highest score possible. 2048 consists of a 4×4 grid where blocks of even numbers starting from 2 are present, and using the four simple swipe directions; the objective is to get the block to read 2048 or more using basic mathematical skills. Try it if you can and let us know in the comments if you cross 2048.
6 Snake vs Block
Snake vs Block is an interactive game which allows the user to control a snake that is made up of a certain number of balls to crash against numbered bricks and the objective is simple, break as many bricks as possible, collect as many balls as possible and make the biggest snake ever. It’s always fun to play when there is no internet connection in the bathroom, and you want to waste time.
This game is nostalgic for most people and can remind us all of the game Snakes that we used to play on our parent’s Nokia 3310, but the only difference is that this game is multiplayer and can also be played against the computer. The aim of the game is simple, make the biggest snake you can by devouring the other snakes in the game. It is a strategic game where you have to outwit your opponents into biting your body, so they die, and you can grow in size, and the bigger you keep growing, the tougher it is for others to trap you.
These 7 games will keep you entertained throughout the quarantine and even after the quarantine when you’re bored at work, on a long commute or when you can never understand anything in class. If there are any more games that you may know of, please share them in the comments, let us know how you like these games as well.
