PUBG Mobile: Karakin Map And Vikendi 2.0 is Under Development

Recently an interview of PUBG Mobile's Global Community Manager 'Ocho' has been published on Clericdragoon Gaming YouTube Channel. In this interview, Ocho talked about PUBG Mobile customer support, how things work backstage, and also about the future updates of the game.

So when Ocho was asked about the future updates of the PUBG Mobile, especially when he was asked when will Karakin and Vikendi 2.0 arrive on the mobile platform, here is what he had to say.

This is a very complicated process; Bluehole is a company that makes PUBG. Tencent works closely with them. They license their IP to make PUBG Mobile. Nothing in PUBG Mobile can be added without the permission of Bluehole, but that doesn't mean that Tencent cannot make changes to the game.

And Tencent Games understand the need of the players, they know players want new maps, they know that players want changes in the existing map. And who knows that Erangel might not be the first one to get these changes.

Here Ocho gave a hint that Erangel 2.0 will not be the first one to arrive in PUBG Mobile, and a few days later, it is now confirmed because in the Beta Version 0.18.0 of PUBG Mobile - Miramar 2.0 is being tested. So it is expected that Miramar 2.0 will be added to Global Version of PUBG Mobile in the very next update itself. He also added that don't worry Earngel 2.0 is also definitely coming.

Then to answer the question asked, Ocho said that he could see the light at the end of the tunnel, but they got a long way to go still. Which further hints that Karakin Map and Vikendi 2.0 are also being developed by Tencent Games in the background for PUBG Mobile.

To explain further, he said that new maps, such as Karakin Map and Vikendi 2.0, are made for PC first, and thus bringing the exact same experience to the mobile platform is very challenging and required time.

To conclude, he said that a lot of map-related stuff is coming soon in PUBG Mobile both for existing Maps and New Map. Existing Maps here talks about the 2.0 version of Miramar, Vikendi, and Erangel. While New Map here clearly refers to the karakin map.

we are not entirely sure, but it looks like Karakin Map, along with other new maps, will be arriving in PUBG Mobile for sure. However, it clear that this will not happen anytime soon. As of now, Karakin Map and Vikendi 2.0 are now even available in the Chinese Beta version of PUBG Mobile, so it could easily take around 3-4 months more for these maps to be released in the global version of the map.
