Free Fire has jumped into the eSports sector and has introduced many big tournaments for the players to showcase their talent. Currently, the Free Fire India Championship 2020 is going on for the Indian players. Free Fire also started its World Series, where players from all around the world competed against each other for a whopping amount of prize money.
The latest news coming from the developers and organizers confirmed that Free Fire World Series 2020 is not going to take place. It has been replaced with the Free Fire Continental Series (FFCS) 2020. There is no doubt that it is going to be the biggest esports tournament of Free Fire in 2020. In addition to the competition, this tournament will also bring in-game events and rewards based on the FFCS theme.
Prize Pool:
In Free Fire Continental Series 2020, players from the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA), and Asia will participate. You would be amazed to know that it will have a prize pool of $300,000 (around INR 21 Crore) for each region. The specific distribution of the prize pool is yet to be announced.
Free Fire Continental Series Teams:
The FFCS will consist of three regional tournaments that will be held simultaneously. The Free Fire Americas Series (FFAS) will have players from LATAM and Brazil regions. The Free Fire Asia Series will have the best players from India, Indonesia, Chinese Taipei, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and other regions. And the last Free Fire EMEA Series will bring players together from Russia, Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa (MENA).
Format & Schedule:
The Best of 6 format will be used in the tournament where players will jump into 3 maps (Bermuda, Kalahari, and Purgatory). The tournament in each region will start from 21st November 2020 and end on 28th - 29th November 2020. A scoring system will be followed with points for both kills and positioning.
FFCS Theme Based In-Game Events:
While the tournament matches will be in progress, players will get to see the in-game event(s) based on the Free Fire Continental Series 2020. The rewards available during the event will also be based on the same theme. Detailed information will be available in the coming months.
