Garena Free Fire announced the launch of India Championship 2020 with a total prize amount of ₹ 35,00,000. This season follows up after the success of the 2019 Championship.
In addition, this is one of the major gaming tournaments to be held in the Indian region. Also, after the announcement, the registrations to this grand event are now open and players can register themselves. The tournament comprises of three major phases to decide the winner.
Stages of the Free Fire Tournament:
Out of the three phases, the first phase of the tournament begins with the online Qualifier round, in which only first 6048 teams will be selected.. This Qualifier round is an online round where players compete against each other and the top 24 teams qualify for the next round. These top 24 teams proceed into the next phase called League Stage.
So-called League Stage is the second phase where the top 24 teams clash against one another. It is an offline round where these 24 teams are split into 4 groups. The top 12 teams that emerge out of this round will move on to the final phase- Finals. Finally, the Top 12 teams fight for glory in the Finals which is again an offline event.
Prize Money Split:
The total prize amount of ₹ 35,00,000 is split as follows,
- Champions: ₹15,00,000
- Runner ups: ₹6,00,000
- 3rd place finish: ₹3,00,000
- 4th place finish: ₹1,50,000
- 5th-7th place finish: ₹1,00,000
- 8th-9th place finish: ₹70,000
- 10th-12th place finish: ₹50,000
- 13th-24th place finish: ₹30,000
Basically, every team that manages to reach the League Stage will return with a prize amount as per their final position. The exact dates, schedule, and the location of the tournament is yet to be announced by Garena but is expected soon.
