The Call of Duty Mobile Community has been asking for an official global Call of Duty Mobile eSports tournament since the launch of the game. And if you are one of such players who wanted to see COD Mobile enter into eSports, then it looks like Activision has just heard your voice.
Tencent Games has Activision has just announced the first COD Mobile eSports Tournament, and it’s titled as ‘Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2020 and today in this post we are going to share everything details about this upcoming event.
What is Call of Duty Mobile World Championship?
It is a global eSports tournament sponsored by Sony Xperia. The COD Mobile World Championship will be an open tournament, which means anyone can take part in this event.
How to Take Part in Call of duty Mobile World Championship 2020?
The players will soon be able to register for this championship in-game. Players can only register individually; team registration will not be accepted.
Once registration is done, there will be 4 open qualifiers, each weekend from 30th April to 24th May.
When the tournament goes live, A player’s first 10 ranked matches will be counted towards these qualifiers. If an individual is able to achieve 80 points within his or her first 10 matches, he will get qualified for round 2.
Are there any rewards for taking part in the Call of Duty Mobile World Championship?
Yes, there are various rewards for taking part in the COD Mobile Championship. All the players who register will get in-game rewards. Further, as players progress, more in-game rewards and tournament rewards will be given.
Lastly, to everyone who qualifies to the Round 2, will get additional in-game rewards, including new items.
What is Round 2/Stage 2 in Call of Duty Mobile World Championship?
Stage 2 is only for the players who qualify successfully from the Stage 1. All the players who qualifier for this round will require to form a team with other qualified players.
Stage 2 will be played in Team v Team format, so if you want your friends or your clan to take part in Stage 2 together. Then you all have to qualify in Round 1 individually, and then you can form a team in Stage 2.
What will happen after Stage 2?
After Stage 2, all the teams who qualify will move to Regional Qualifiers then to Regional Playoffs – Ultimately leading to the Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2020 Final, which will be a LAN event. The exact dates and place is yet to be announced by Activision.
What is the Total Prize Pool of Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2020?
1 Million USD.
Things to Keep in Mind while playing Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2020:
- Players only either at rank Veteran or Higher can take part in this event.
- Emulators are not allowed in this tournament.
- Players will be disqualified for Bluetooth controller, wired controllers, mouse, keyboard, etc.
- Players must be at least 18 years of age.
